Abstract

FEIS proposes to harvest commercially on 6172 acres, precommercial thinning on 11,160 acres, and 196 acres of thinning in hardwood stands. Includes some 15,464 acres of prescribed fire, 3015 acres of grapple piling, 718 acres of hand piling, and commercial harvesting using tractor, skyline, and helicopter logging systems. Record of decision announces implementation of Alternate 4 of FEIS, altering the figures to 4935 acres of commercial timber harvest, 10,935 acres of precommercial thinning, 196 acres of hardwood thinning, 15,162 acres of prescribed fire, 2490 acres of grapple piling, and 793 acres of hand piling.
